OpenAI announced significant price cuts to GPT-5.6 on July 30, 2026. Luna dropped 80% — from $1/$6 to $0.20/$1.20 per million input/output tokens. Terra dropped 20% — from $2.50/$15 to $2/$12. Cached input reads drop proportionally: Luna is now $0.02/M cached, Terra $0.20/M cached. We've updated our pricing and tier access across the platform immediately.
Luna Is Now on Free & Lite
At $0.20/$1.20 per million tokens with $0.02 cached reads, Luna's blended cost at our 85% cache rate is now approximately $0.11/M — putting it firmly in the same cost band as MiniMax M3 and other models we already offer to all users. So that's exactly what we've done: GPT-5.6 Luna is now available on every tier including Free and Lite. No upgrade required. Open the model dropdown and you'll see it.
Terra Drops to $2/$12 — Still Pro
Terra's 20% cut brings it to $2 input / $12 output per million tokens, with $0.20/M for cached reads. Its blended cost on our platform comes out to roughly $1.05/M — still comfortably in the mid tier alongside Kimi K3, Gemini 3.6 Flash, and Grok 4.5. Terra stays in Pro and Elite plans where it sits alongside those models.
What This Means in Practice
Luna now gives Lite users a genuine GPT-5.6 family model — the same architecture as Sol, at a fraction of the price. For high-volume tasks, quick edits, automated pipelines, and file operations, Luna was already excellent. At this price point it's one of the most cost-effective capable models available anywhere. Auto mode will route to Luna more aggressively for lighter tasks on all tiers, stretching your token pool further.
No Action Needed
If you're on Free or Lite, Luna is already unlocked in your account. You'll see it in the model dropdown under OpenAI. If you're on Auto mode, routing will factor in the new costs automatically. All pricing changes are live as of today.
